Business License Fee Increase Due to State Law

STATE FEE SB 1186 OF $1 INCREASED TO $4 BY AB 1379 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2018

Dear Business License Owner:

Our apologies for the late notice and if you received a delinquent/final notice for your business license account. On October 11, 2017, Governor Brown signed into law Assembly Bill (AB) 1379 which amended Senate Bill (SB) 1186 and increased the State fee from $1 to $4, effective January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2023. The fee is to increase disability access.

In October 2017, the 2018 business license renewal notices were mailed that included the $1 SB 1186 State fee. On January 1, 2018, the additional $3 fee was added to your account, in accordance with AB 1379, and may have resulted in a $3 outstanding balance. If you have been notified and have paid the increased fee, please disregard this letter; if not, please pay the current balance due using one of the following payment options:

  1. Online: www.mountainview.gov/miscpayments with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or e-check;

  3. In person: Cash, check, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard).
