Mountain View Public Library is proud of its many wonderful and talented volunteers. We rely on volunteers to assist us with sorting and organizing books, helping with library programs, and many other tasks.

The minimum age requirement for volunteers is 13.

Volunteers age 13 – 17 must fill out an online application then print it so their parents can sign the application and give their consent.  Volunteers 18 years of age or over must complete a fairly quick fingerprinting process through the Mountain View Police Department.  There is no cost to volunteers.

Thank you for considering Mountain View Public Library for your volunteer destination.  We look forward to the possibility of working with you!

 LANGUAGE SWAP VOLUNTEERS

Japanese and French speakers, we need your talents! Mountain View Public Library is looking for Japanese and French speakers to assist with our Language Swap program. We meet every Thursday, 7:00-8:00PM for fun and conversation.

This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. You will be asked to attend every Thursday, 7:00-8:00PM to have casual conversation with people learning Japanese/French. There's no required prep or any additional work outside that one hour a week.

Commitment: Ideal candidates will be able to commit to volunteering weekly, on Thursdays from 7:00-8:00pm. However, if you are only available for a portion of the program, please still apply.

Volunteers must go through the city volunteer program, which includes a background check and fingerprinting.
