Potential sponsors will be asked to submit a letter of intent to sponsor city events and will work with Recreation Division staff to solidify the sponsorship for the events listed below. Interested in sponsoring an event or program not listed? Give us a call and we will see what can be done. If/when your sponsorship is approved, City staff will work with your business to complete a formal agreement and obtain necessary high-resolution artwork for printed and electronic promotions.

The Halloween “Monster Bash” takes place at the Mountain View Community Center and Rengstorff Park the last Saturday in October. The event is attended by over 700 parents and kids wearing their best Halloween costumes. The night features a Haunted House, a dance room, outdoor games and activities followed by an outdoor movie on the City's large inflatable outdoor movie screen.
The annual Community Tree Lighting Celebration takes place in early December. This 2-hour long program features holiday entertainment provided by local grammar school, middle school and high school performance groups as well as the local barbershop group performing for over 2,000 attendees. Santa stops by to light the City Tree and spends a few hours in his “Workshop” taking photos with all the kids. Refreshments, Children's activities and snow are also key highlights of this event. The event is carried live on the local cable TV network, KMVT Channel 15.
The annual Downtown Family Parade takes place in late April. The Parade route is held on downtown Castro Street and over 40 local groups march from Dana St. to Pioneer Park where post-parade activities take place. The parade and post-parade festivities draw over 2,000 attendees. The event is held 12noon to 3:00 p.m. and features games, activities, food trucks, ice cream vendors, live music and entertainment.
Thursday Night Live is held four Thursday evenings during the summer months. Castro Street is closed to traffic for the public to enjoy live music, a classic car show, children's activities and a farmer's market. Thursday Night Live hosts approximately 3,000 people each evening. Vendor tables are available to purchase for you to promote your business in addition to a variety of sponsorship opportunities.
The Summer Outdoor Movie Night Series takes place six Friday evenings in a row during the summer months. The Recreation Division rotates to six different parks during the summer to reach out to the major neighborhoods of Mountain View. Approximately 800-2,000 people attend each movie night. Prior to each movie, sponsored ads are available to promote your business.
The City of Mountain View hosts a variety of events on the Civic Center Plaza located at the corner of Castro Street and Mercy Street. Some of these events include: Festival on the Plaza, Concerts on the Plaza, and more. Sponsorship opportunities are available and discussed on an event-by-event basis.
