The SMaRT Station is the materials recovery and refuse transfer facility shared by the Cities of Mountain View, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale. In addition to providing buy-back and drop-off services, the Station processes Mountain View's residential and commercial garbage, yard trimmings, and recyclables, and accepts debris self-hauled by residents and businesses of our community. SMaRT is located at 301 Carl Road, Sunnyvale (near the corner of Caribbean & Borregas Ave.). The Station is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Please call for more information at 408-752-8530.
Residents may also drop off computer monitors, televisions, cell phones, consumer electronics, fluorescent tubes, batteries (household and vehicle), hypodermic needles, thermometers and thermostats, and used motor oil, filters, and anti-freeze at no additional charge. (Note: Other household hazardous wastes may be properly disposed at the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, by appointment only, next door to the SMaRT Station. Call 408-299-7300 for a Saturday appointment.)
