Where is the Library located?
The Library is located at between Church Street and Mercy Street.  There is off-street parking next to the building and underground parking accessible via Mercy Street.

How do I get a library card?
To apply for a free library card,go to http://www.mountainview.gov/city_hall/library/card_application.asp or come into the Library. Please bring your valid photo ID and current address verification to the circulation desk in the Library or Mobile Library vehicle. If you are under 14 years of age, you must apply in person and bring a parent or legal guardian with you to sign your application.

How can I look at my library record?
Click on "My Library Record" on the Home Page. You will need to enter your name and library card number to access your record. 

Can I update my personal information?
While in "My Library Record", click on the "Modify Personal Information."  You can add or update your phone number or email address online.  Changes to your address must be made in person at the Library and new address verification is required at the time of request.

How do I renew library items?
You can renew library items online at http://library.mountainview.gov/patroninfo or by calling the library at 650-903-6885 during business hours.  After hours call the 24 hour automated renewal line at 650-940-1015.  This line cannot renew items that are overdue.

How do I put a hold on an item?
If the item you want is checked out, you may place a hold on it by clicking on the Request button and then entering your name and barcode number.  You cannot place a hold on an item if the status is CHECK SHELF.

Do you have Internet access?
The Library has many public computers for Internet use.  Patrons can use Internet computers for 90 minutes a day with a library card.

Can I get Internet access without a library card?
If you don't have a library card, you may use the Internet Express Stations which give you 15 minutes of use.  Printing is not available for Internet Express Stations.

Can I get Internet access with my laptop?
Internet access is available for those patrons with a laptop computer.  We have both ethernet and wireless service available.  To use the ethernet connection, the computer must be equipped with an ethernet card and patrons must provide their own ethernet cable.  Wireless Internet access is available at the Mountain View Public Library courtesy of Google.  Ask at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for instructions. Printing is not available for laptop users.

Do you have meeting rooms?
Two meeting rooms and two small and one large group study rooms are available in the Library. 

How can I support the Library?
You can support the Library by joining the Friends of the Library, making a tax-deductible donation to the Mountain View Public Library, or by making a donation of books or DVDs, or by becoming a library volunteer.
