Neighborhood Programs

Neighborhood Grant Program
The City of Mountain View is committed to the preservation and renewal of neighborhoods and has established a coucil neighborhoods committee to oversee neighborhood programs. The Neighborhood Grant Program was started to maintain and improve neighborhoods by supporting civic participation of neighborhood residents. The Neighborhood Grant Program provides financial support to help resident-based groups carry out programs and activities designed to improve participation and neighborhood conditions.

Neighborhood grants are awarded each year and applications are typically available in May.

Neighborhood Meetings
The Council Neighborhoods Committee holds three to four neighborhood meetings to hear the concerns and ideas of Mountain View residents. The focus of the neighborhood meetings is to identify ways to improve City services and make your neighborhood a better place to live. These meetings are a valuable way for residents to meet Council members and staff and for the City to hear directly from residents.

Neighborhood meetings rotate between six areas of the City with meetings usually being held in an area every two years. These neighborhood areas encompass more than one neighborhood as shown on the Neighborhood Meeting Areas Map*

Every other year, the Council Neighborhoods Committee also holds a community meeting for mobile home park residents. A meeting report is prepared after each of these meetings containing the questions and responses from that meeting. These reports can be accessed in the City's document archives.

Neighborhood Associations
The City of Mountain View is fortunate to have many active neighborhood associations that host a variety of fun and informative events. If you are interested in participating, please check the list Neighborhood Associations* to find the association in your area.
