CURRENT CODES - Effective January 1, 2010

Effective January 1, 2010 all plans submitted for building and fire plan check and permitting will be required to comply with the following codes and standards:

• 2007 California Building Code with Mountain View City Code amendments (2006 International Building Code)
• 2007 California Mechanical Code (2006 Uniform Mechanical Code)
• 2007 California Plumbing Code (2006 Uniform Plumbing Code)
• 2007 California Electrical Code (2005 National Electrical Code)
• 2007 California Fire Code with Mountain View City Code amendments (2006 International Fire Code)
• 1997 California Uniform Housing Code with amendments
• 1997 California Fire Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings
• Title 24, Part 6, California Energy Code (2008 Edition)
• Title 24 Handicapped Accessibility Regulations (2007 Edition)

Copies of the Mountain View City Code amendments may be obtained at the Building Inspection Division in the Development Services Center or by printing the on-line at version via the about links to the specifc amendment you need. Copies of the 2007 California Codes are available to the public to view in the Building Inspection Division and Mountain View Library. The International Building and Fire Codes may be purchased from the International Code Council (ICC) at (800)786-4452 and the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes may be purchase from the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) at (800)854-2766.
