History, Wildlife & Habitats

Welcome to Shoreline at Mountain View, with its unique history, wildlife and habitatsThe 750-acre wildlife and recreation area first opened to the public in 1983 and is now open 6:00 a.m. until 30 minutes after sundown, seven days a week.

The dynamic history of Shoreline now provides an estuary environment and varied ecosystems for wildlife and a large number of species of birds to enjoy.  We hope that you will have an opportunity to view our resident Species of Special Concern, the Burrowing Owl.  To protect and care for this unique environment, please do what you can to learn more about and follow the no domesticated animals policy here at Shoreline!
