Guidelines for Caterers and Florists

  • Check in with House Attendant upon arrival.
  • Glass, aluminum and plastic containers can be recycled by placing them in the recycle dumpster located in the Sailing Lake parking lot.
  • Cardboard and cartons can be recycled if they are flattened and taken to the dumpster in the Sailing Lake parking lot.
  • Garbage is to be tied off in sturdy plastic bags and taken to the dumpster located in the Sailing Lake parking lot.
  • Replacement trash bags are in the drawer to the left of the sink in the kitchen.
  • Rental equipment (linens, dishes, tables, chairs, umbrellas, etc.) are to be placed in the bricked fenced area near the gardening shed. This equipment should be locked together using a chain and lock provided by the House Attendant. Do not lean heavy equipment against the fence.
  • No beverages are to be poured in the flower beds or on the lawn, ground, gravel or paved areas.
  • Ice is to be emptied in the dirt area behind the House and to the left of the garden shed.
  • Cleaning equipment and supplies are available (mop, broom, vacuum, etc.).
  • Step ladders are available. Ask the House Attendant to unlock them. Ladders are to be returned to the storage area behind the garden shed.
  • Please inform the House Attendant of anything that you see that needs attention.
  • The House, gardens and grounds are to be left as found.

Feel free to wander through the House and enjoy it. Come on a Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a free docent led tour. Hear about the history, architecture and restoration of the House and the Rengstorff family.
