Teen Services

The City of Mountain View Recreation Division offers a variety of classes, camps and services to meet the needs of youth, teens and their parents. Recreation staff and contract instructors provide an asset-based, nurturing environment. The Recreation Division offers such diverse classes, that one will be right for you.

Welcome to The House!
The House is open to middle school students to come hang out with their friends in a safe, fun environment! This free drop-in program is supervised by trained Recreation Leaders and offers a social atmosphere that includes homework help, billiards, arts and crafts, foosball, video games, board games, and so much more!

In order to attend The House, participants must submit a Registration Form and Rules Contract. Once completed, the participant will receive a House Membership Card. Download a Registration Form and Rules Contract Here:

Completed Registration Forms and Rules Contracts can be turned in to the Mountain View Community Center or The House Teen Center Staff.

The House School-Year Hours
Monday-Thursday: 5:00-8:00pm
Friday and Saturday: 5:00-9:30pm
Sunday: CLOSED

Special Winter Hours
Tuesday, February 16th-Thursday, February 18th: 3:00-8:00pm
Friday, February 19th: 3:00-9:45pm

The House will be Closed for the following holidays:

Teen Open Gym for Middle and High School Students

FREE supervised drop-in recreation activities are available for Middle and High school aged students at Teen Open Gym! Youth and Teens 11 to 18 years old are invited to attend Teen Open Gym at Whisman Sports Center located at 1500 Middlefield Road or at the Mountain View Sports Pavilion located at 1185 Castro Street. Teen Open Gym is open for Summer Hours every Saturday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm (*except holiday weekends). Recreation Staff offer a wide-variety of activities, including basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, ping pong and other gym sports. ID is required for admittance to the program.

Check back March 1, 2010 for LIT Applications for Summer Recreation & Aquatics programs. LIT Fact Sheets with detailed information on the different opportunities will be available at that time as well (dates, locations, times, training, etc.).
