City-Wide Garage Sale and Community Yard Sale
Welcome Shoppers! The City-wide Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 and the Community Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Both events are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. but are being held on separate weeks to give you more shopping opportunities.
What's the difference between the garage sale and the yard sale?
- The garage sale is held at homes throughout Mountain View and typically has larger items such as furniture and appliances.
- The yard sale is held at Rengstorff Park where you will find smaller items and food vendors.
To help you plan your shopping trip for the City-wide Garage Sale, a map of all registered garage sales and list of items will be available online here, in the Mountain View Voice newspaper, and at City Hall (outside main entrance across from the Center for Performing Arts). The online version of the map and list allows you to electronically search for specific items from your personal computer or PDA mobile device. You can also search by street or neighborhood and print maps to help you plan your shopping trip.
By planning your trip and linking your garage sales together, you can save time, gas, and reduce vehicle emissions to help our environment. And by shopping for used items, you will help our community keep reusable items out of the landfill and conserve our natural resources. One good use deserves another!
