The Parks and Open Space Plan * represents a comprehensive review of open space needs for the City of Mountain view. It offers a long-term vision to guide decisions related to park and open space resources and a detailed evaluation of current needs in the City and its neighborhoods. The Plan contains prioritized recommendations for the acquisition, improvement and preservation of parks and open space, but is intentionally flexible so that actions may be implemented as opportunities arise.

Mission Statement
"To provide recreational experiences; promote health and wellness: foster human development: protect environmental and open space resources; strengthen security and safety; support economic growth; facilitate community problem solving and strengthen community image and sense of place.”
