Community Workshop Results

The first Cuesta Park Annex master planning process community workshop was help on July 29, 2006.

Working in small groups, more than 70 workshop participants brainstormed several potential land use concepts/ideas for the Annex site.

Each group then developed a name for and a graphic representation of its vision for the Annex site. The groups shared their proposed designs as well as throughts about the benefits, drawbacks, and impacts of thier designs with other workshop groups.

The 11 design concept graphics created at the community workshop can be viewed by selecting any of the following titles.

The second Cuesta Park Annex master planning process workshop was held on August 19. Approximately 70 people attended the event.

The workshop started off with a review of the 11 design concepts for the Annex site that were created at the first community workshop (see below).

The consultants working with the City and community on the master planning effort then discussed how they distilled the 11 design concepts info four new, synthesized concepts.

Concept A "Minimal Improvements, Passive Use"

Concept B "Culture, Agriculture and Passive Use"

Concept C "Culture, Agriculture and Active Use"

Concept D "Active Sports"

Working in small groups, workshop participants were asked to evaluate each design concept and then compare the results with other group members.

Workshop participants were also provided an opportunity to suggest modifications/refinements to the four design concepts.

The results of the two community workshops and master planning process were presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission on September 13, 2006.
