Municipal Code and Enforcement

The Mountain View City Code provisions were enacted by the City Council to maintain a healthy, safe and clean environment, carry out established land use policy and preserve the quality-of-life of our community.

The Mountain View City Code includes and incorporates Zoning provisions, and the Uniform Fire, Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes. Code enforcement is a responsibility shared by many City departments and, to be effective and efficient, also needs the cooperation of residents and businesses.
